Tarmac or Asphalt as it is also known, is a hard-wearing and cost-effective surface and of course can be found on driveways and pathways throughout Glasgow and surrounding areas, including Clydebank where we are based.
Tarmac is black when it is first laid because there are a lot of resins in the surface, but over the years the Tarmac dries out and goes progressively greyer. If left for too long, the surface starts to “fret” which is when small stones come off the surface and get stuck on the soles of shoes and are brought into the house!
Our procedure for repairing tarmac cleaning & restoration service is as follows:
· Gently wash the surface to remove dirt and grime
· Fill any cracks bigger than hairline with Crack Repair Compound
· Fill any holes with Cold Repair Tarmac
· Apply two coats of Tarmaseal Tarmac Restorer
Tarmaseal is far superior to many of the Tarmac “paints” on the market as it contains acrylic resins which soak into the surface and replenish those lost over time, as described above. Total Outdoor Maintenance Services have Smartseal trained and qualified installer's to restore your Tarmac Pathway surface or tarmac driveway cleaning.
